David R. Edgar joined the Jamboree advisory board in 2019 and he currently serves on the Business Development Committee. David’s career in city government spans nearly four decades when he began working for the City of Garden Grove. In 1995, David joined the
City of Fontana as the Director of Housing. In 2005, he was promoted to Deputy City Manager for the City of Fontana, a position he held until his retirement in June 2019.
As Deputy City Manager, David oversaw the finance, information technology, human resources, and community services departments as well as the City Clerk’s Office. Additionally, he led the administration of the Fontana Housing Authority along with the housing, business, and economic development departments.
Highlights during David’s tenure with the City of Fontana include the development and construction of 1,500+ units of quality affordable housing in Central Fontana. He was instrumental in the acquisition, rehabilitation, and professional management of more than 500 units of affordable multifamily housing. David graduated from University of California, Los Angeles with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and received a master’s degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University.
